PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION

HLTAID009

This course provides workers the skills and confidence to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Training includes:

  • Adult CPR

  • Infant CPR

  • Defibrillation: Followed the prompts of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

  • Manage infection control requirements

  • Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting

  • Demonstrating safe manual handling techniques

  • Managing the unconscious breathing casualty

PROVIDE BASIC EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT

HLTAID009 & HLTAID010

Participants will gain skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies and includes Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Training includes

  • Infant CPR

  • Adult CPR & defibrillation

  • Verbal reporting, debriefing and evaluating

  • Anaphylaxis & autoinjector

  • Asthma & medication

  • Choking

  • Turning a casualty on his/her side

  • Bleeding control & shock


Provide First Aid

HLTAID011, HLTAID010 & HLTAID009

Participants will gain skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.

Training includes a large variety of first aid incidents including:

  • Eye and ear injuries

  • Fractures

  • Head, neck and spinal injuries

  • Minor skin injuries

  • Needle stick injuries

  • Poisoning and toxic substances

  • Respiratory distress, including asthma

  • Seizures, including epilepsy

  • Shock

  • Soft tissue injuries, including strains and sprains

  • Stroke

  • Unconsciousness

  • CPR

  • Abdominal injuries

  • Allergic reaction

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Basic care of the wound

  • Bleeding control

  • Burns

  • Cardiac conditions, including chest pain

  • Choking and airway obstruction

  • Crush injuries

  • Diabetes

  • Dislocations

  • Drowning

  • Envenomation

  • Environment impact, including hypothermia, hyperthermia, dehydrations and heat stroke

PROVIDE AN EMERGENCY FIRST AID RESPONSE IN AN EDUCATION AND CARE SETTING

HLTAID012, HLTAID011, HLTAID010 & HLTAID009

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. Aimed at educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Training includes:

  • CPR on an infant, child & adult

  • Anaphylaxis (allergic reaction)

  • Choking with airway obstruction

  • Head injury/ Unconscious breathing casualty

  • Bleeding and shock

  • Snake or funnel web spider bite

  • Sprains and fractures

  • Seizures and epilepsy, including febrile convulsions

  • Poisoning and toxic substances

  • Breathing difficulties – Asthma

  • Implementation of Action Plans
